"Beery Good" Fried Pickles

Serve these with ranch dressing or horseradish sauce.

Ingredients

1 cup All-Purpose Flour
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons corn meal
12 oz. Beer
Pickle slices or spears
Vegetable oil to cover bottom of skillet about ¼-inch deep

Heat oil in skillet. Stir together flour, salt, pepper, corn meal, and beer to make a batter.

Blot pickles with a paper towel to absorb extra liquid. Dip pickle into beer mixture and then drop into the hot oil. 

Fry for about 1 minute until golden brown, turning pickle every 20 seconds for even cooking.
