Ingredients
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 (14-oz.) bag of caramels
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix cake as directed on box. Grease and flour 9×13-inch pan. Pour half of cake batter in pan and bake for 15 minutes.
In saucepan, melt caramels with butter and milk. Pour this mixture over baked cake. Top with chocolate chips and pecans.
Pour rest of cake batter over caramel mixture and return to oven.
