This interesting soup is a bit spicy and Paul said it, “didn’t suck.” I’ll take what I can get! Serve it with cornbread or a nice crusty bread.
Ingredients
1 lg can turnip greens
1 can Rotel tomatoes
3-4 cups bite-size chopped potatoes
2 cans chicken broth
2 cans navy beans
2 cups water
3 cubes chicken bouillon
4 cups sliced, beef smoked sausage
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion flakes
In a large pot, add all ingredients except beans. Bring to a boil, lower heat to medium and simmer until you reduce liquid a third – about 20-30 minutes.
Add in beans. Reduce heat to low and simmer another 10-25 minutes. Serve hot with bread!
